Acclaimed as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestra player and exponent of contemporary music, David Howard is one of the most versatile clarinetists performing today. As a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, he played and recorded repertoire from every chair in his

What Does David Play?
David Howard is a Buffet Crampon and Vandoren artist. On Bb and A clarinet he plays nickel-plated R13 Buffets and a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece with #3½ traditional reeds. On bass clarinet he plays a Buffet prestige low C with a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece and #4 traditional reeds. On Eb clarinet he plays an RC Buffet with a Vandoren B44 mouthpiece and traditional #3 ½ reeds.
